Submission of Papers & Instructions for Authors

All the papers must be submitted by no later than 15 August 2008. Please write the papers according to the instructions detailed below and submit them only through our website. Paper submission will be available from July 20, 2008. After the scientific committee review of all the papers, the authors of accepted papers will be notified by 15 September 2008. Authors will also be informed about presentation type, either oral or by poster. All the accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings (by CD-ROM).

One registration fee should be paid for each accepted paper to be published in the Proceedings.

Instructions for Authors

The Proceedings of International Conference of “Science and Information Technologies for Sustainable Management of Aquatic Ecosystems” will be issued as a set of printed volumes, containing the abstracts, and a CD-ROM with the full papers. In order to achieve a timely publication, the text will be printed on CD-ROM directly from Authors’ submission files. Authors are therefore fully responsible for the quality of their articles and are kindly requested to follow the guidelines described below.

General

The camera ready files, consisting of i) first page abstract and ii) the full paper, should be submitted in PDF format (Adobe or compatible, with explicit .pdf extension of the filename). Please keep the layout of the one page abstract text as simple as possible. Both the first page abstract and the full paper are to be submitted online as one document through the website from 15 August 2008. The full paper in Technical Sessions, Special Sessions, and in Student Competition should not exceed 10 pages including abstract, figures, photographs, tables, references, appendices.

Text preparation and submission

The text should be prepared according to the guidelines given below. References, tables, figures, photographs, etc. should be included within the main text. The submitted manuscript should be original, unpublished and not being considered for publication elsewhere.

Manuscripts

  1. Manuscripts should be written in English. SI-units should be used.
  2. The full paper should be organized as follows. First page abstract should include: A to E requirements, body of text with no headings, and keywords. Key references can be cited in the text and listed at the end of the text under the heading References.

    3. Full affiliation(s) and address(es): centered, 10 points

    5. Abstract: justified, 12 points, single spaced, 15 to 20 lines

  3. Page format
    A4, single column, single spaced, margin left and right 25mm, top and bottom, 25mm
  4. Type face
    1. Times new Roman
    2. Headings: flushed left, 12 points, capitals, bold, with one line space above, but no space below
    3. Regular text: justified, 12 points, with 8mm indentation at the beginning of a new paragraph
  5. The organizers reserve the right to reject submitted manuscripts that do not follow the form given in the guidelines.

Illustrations, formulae, references, footnotes

Illustrations, formulae, references, footnotes Illustrations (line drawings and photographs, in black/grey/white format) should be ready for printing. Mathematical formulae should be written in electronically compatible form. Any standard reference system may be used. Footnotes should be used only if absolutely essential. Colored figures will be accepted for the full paper (only on CD) but not for the abstracts (hard copies).

Submission of a paper will be interpreted as a statement that the author has obtained the necessary permission for publication.

Poster

The deadline to submit a one page abstract for a design poster presentation is 31 May 2008.

All authors whose abstract is accepted will be invited to present a poster.

A poster author needs only to report (in English) the name, location, short description of the work which emphasizes the main problems that have analyzed, by a sufficient number of figures, diagrams and photographs and a minimum text.

Posters shall be prepared in AO format (84 x 120 cm), in fact 84 cm wide.

The poster will be displayed during the Conference in a specific hall. The participants will be encouraged to visit the posters and meet the authors.
